The component cost is very important. When I talk about the component cost, I am referring not only to the cost of the projector itself, but to the cost of the projector bulbs. Before purchasing a projector be sure to look at the cost of any bulbs, a common mistake for those purchasing a projector for the first time is to only look at the projector cost without thinking of the bulbs, and end up having to deal with a much higher overall cost.
Lumens And Contrast Ratio Are Key
The second factor to consider is the image quality of the hd portable projector. The two key components of image quality are brightness and contrast. The brightness is measured in lumens, and the higher the lumens the easier it will be to see your picture on a poorer screen or with more ambient light present. The second thing to consider is the contrast ratio, and just like the brightness the higher the better. For best image quality try to get as high a lumens rating, and contrast ratio as possible.
Does It Have A Case?
The third key factor to consider is the device portability. There are several components to this, the size and weight of the device, how easy the device is to set up, and whether or not a case is included. A good portable projector will have some settings for quick setup. You do not want to be fiddling around with settings for a lengthy period of time. Also, you do not want to incur the extra cost of purchasing a case because your projector did not include one.
Do Not Forget The Projection Screen
The final, and most frequently looked factor for your is the projector screen. Your projector will always be limited by the quality of your projector screen. Projecting onto an old bed sheet, or off a wall with regular paint is not going to give good results, even if you are using the most expensive portable DLP projector. Be sure to do some research, and choose the best screen for your HD projector and viewing room.
